For the fifth straight year, Brevard Family Partnership has exceeded its goal for adoptions of children in foster care. In the just completed fiscal year, which ran from July 1, 2010, to June 30, 2011, fifty-nine children of all ages were joined with families.

Brevard Family Partnership CEO, Dr. Patricia Nellius, received the "Children's Hero" award, one of three presented to community leaders by Eckerd Youth Alternatives at the organization’s “Brevard Walk of Fame” gala on March 5. Dr. Nellius was recognized for her talent in transitioning Brevard County's child welfare system of care and dramatically improving the safety of at-risk children.

Brevard Family Partnership recently accepted a gift over $10,000 in network technology equipment from Total Care IT, in collaboration with Tech Data Corporation. Three Brocade switches were donated which will allow more active data ports operating at a higher speed, from 100 Mb/second to 1 Gb/second, resulting in additional employee productivity and efficiency.

Brevard Family Partnership (BFP) has been awarded a grant from the Community Foundation of Brevard to provide supplemental educational services to youth who have aged out of foster care so that they may acquire their GED and pass the FCAT. The award was presented at a Grant Award Ceremony on September 1, at the Space Coast Early Intervention Center in Melbourne.
